War on Scientology

I might be late to this news, but has anyone heard of the group that calls them-self "Anonymous"? They have apparently declared war against the Church of Scientology (and Tom Cruise). I don't know much about either group, but being a fan of the "written word" I found their mission statement pretty powerful. Check it out:

"Over the years we have been watching you, your campaigns of misinformation, your suppression of dissent and your litigious nature. All of these things have caught our eye. With the leakage of your latest propaganda video into mainstream circulation the extent of your malign influence over those who have come to trust you as leaders has been made clear to us. Anonymous has therefore decided that your organisation should be destroyed, for the good of your followers, for the good of mankind and for our own enjoyment. We shall systematically expel you from the Internet and proceed to dismantle the Church of Scientology in its current form. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.”

This war has apparently been waged for a while now, so apparently it is not a bluff. It not only sounds like they have a problem with the Church of Scientology, but they also sound like they have some resolve....We'll see!

Wow. That's strong. That's my kind of statement against the ACLU and liberalism!!!

Except the "We are Legion. We do not forgive." part.

The only other time I've read someone say they are legion was the group of demons possessing the man who came out of the tombs in the country of the Gadarenes.

Angela and I had a conversation about "legion" after she read this quote. She, like most in the Christian community, lumped the word "legion" to evil and/or demons. Mark 5:9 and Luke 8:30 both refer to the Gadarenes demon Bobby makes mention of ("My name is Legion," he replied, "for we are many.") But apart from Christianity, "legion" is mainly just a reference to "many" (A large number; a multitude: via the On Line Dictionary). So although most Christians relate "legion" to evil, I believe people outside of the Christian influence do not see this word as a reference to a demon, but only as a multitude. Thus we can possibly conclude that "Anonymous" is not a Christian organization. Plus, as Bobby mentions, "We do not forgive" is not congruent to Christian philosophy either. So I don't know which side to cheer for in this battle. I guess I'll just stay on the side of Christianity...the side of Truth!!

This is for Anonymous;
My name is Teresa, I am a daughter of the Most High God; He is my Father and His authority supercedes every authority - natural and supernatural. We the Body of Christ come on Kingdom business in the authority Jesus gave us. You will cease and dissit your assignment; you have been found a lie!! We have power and authority over legion, and you like he will be cast down in Jesus name. We forgive every sinner but not demons. This is for spirit of delusion that has used and abused the person you spoke through. That person will be delivered and set free in Jesus name!! We now claim you for the kingdom of God. In Jesus name. Those in Christ's image will stand to attention and take by force the kingdoms of darkness for our God. We are a militant force to be reckoned with.
